I know, I know, I meant to update Malila yesterday and I didn’t. I won’t make excuses. The truth is I just plain forgot.
Part of it is that I’m thinking it really will be easier for me, if I post Malila only to Wattpad, rather than directly to the blog. I would, of course send out blog posts and email updates whenever I do so. And I will put a link in the sidebar to the story as well!
Yes. Yes, that will be so much easier to keep track of for me…especially if I wish to update more than once a week!
Which leads me to my next subject…. NaNoWriMo!
I am torn between two stories. Namely shall I finish Malila, or shall I rewrite an Ozark romance that’s been haunting my subconscious lately?
I’m not sure Malila will be 50,000 words long (it is kids fiction, after all), so I might be able to do both actually. But I thought it would be fun to post the Malila story as I wrote it. I toyed with this idea last year but I didn’t have the courage to attempt it. First drafts are buggy enough as it is. NaNoWriMo first drafts are beyond buggy. At least mine are. Especially if I harness the awesome power of the dread Write or Die!
BUT the truth is, I think there’s already some discrepancies in the Malila chapters I’ve already published….for example, I’m pretty sure I referred to the White Isle in early chapters, but now I’m calling it the Ivory Isle. So, as long as I’ve already messed up in public anyway, what have I got to lose?
The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. Finish Malila in November and post it regularly to Wattpad (dare I even say daily?!). And this month I will continue to post what is already written, as well as work on a plot outline!
I just may do some other stories along with it! (Aka, be a NaNo Rebel.)
And now that that’s decided I’m off to do some serious plotting! (Not World Domination. Just NaNo.)
Meanwhile go bookmark Malila on Wattpad! You’ll want it in November. Err, at least I hope you will. 😉
