Anne of Green Gables Fan Art

I don't want SunburstsMy post today is a little late. But that’s because I’ve been working on a free art download for you guys!

I created this picture, based on my favorite scene from the movie Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel (or from the book, Anne of the Island). The moment where Gilber finally proposes to Anne on the bridge (In the movie, it happened in Hester Grey’s Garden actually).

Anyway, I couldn’t decide what to write about today. I had decided of course that Fridays were “Fandom Fridays” but I couldn’t think of one thing to write about books or movies. Then I realized I hadn’t done anything arty on here in a while. And I remembered this old picture. I am very proud of it, but I never felt like I could put it up for sale because I don’t feel right about selling fan art (unless the story itself is in the public domain. Which, I think the Anne books themselves are. But the movies aren’t! And I think you can tell the actors in this picture…).

Anyway, I don’t think there’s any reason why I can’t put this on my blog as a free art digiprint download!

So here it is! Enjoy!

First though I thought you’d enjoy a glimpse of the Before and After. The Before, is the colored pencil-watercolor-mixed-media picture I drew about two years ago. The after is the polished up version I created today, using Gimp. I added a couple of abstract paintings over it that I also created. And then I added the quote (And I just now realized, I think I got the last part of the quote wrong….yes, I did. One word. It’s “I just want you” not only. Oh well. Small matter. If it bugs anybody, I can easily change it though!).

What can you do with a “digiprint” you may ask? Well, you can print it from your pc and hang it on the wall. You can have a more professional print service create a print for you. Or you can simply use the image file on your desktop as wallpaper! I also intend to play with making bookmarks, cards, and tags from my art. We’ll see how that goes…

Anyway, I hope you all like the picture!
